Palafer Iron Therapy Capsules

Iron is a mineral our body needs to synthesize hemoglobin, which is a protein in red blood cells that gives blood its red colour and enables red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout the body. When the body does not get enough iron, it cannot produce enough hemoglobin and the number of normal, healthy red blood cells needed to carry oxygen to body tissues. This condition is called iron deficiency (iron shortage) or iron deficiency anemia

• Each capsule contains 300mg ferrous fumarate, equivalent to 100mg elemental iron

• For the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency

• Once a day dosing at bedtime on an empty stomach for adults and children 12 years and older, or as directed by a physician.

• Take a few hours before or after taking other medications.

Warnings: Keep out of the reach of children. This package contains enough iron to seriously harm a child. Some people may experience constipation, diarrhea and/or vomiting. Certain foods may inhibit iron absorption. If you are taking iron, the following foods should be avoided, or only taken in very small amounts, for at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after you take iron:

• Cheese, yogurt, milk

• Eggs

• Spinach

• Tea or coffee

• Whole-grain breads, cereals and bran
