Plan B Emergency Contraception 1.5mg

Plan B (levonorgestrel 1.5 mg tablets) is an emergency contraceptive that can prevent pregnancy and is intended to be used within 72 hours (three days) following known or suspected contraceptive failure or unprotected intercourse.

Treatment should not be delayed as efficacy may decline with an increased interval between intercourse and the start of the treatment.

Medicinal Ingredient: Levonorgestrel 1.5mg

Non-medicinal Ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, potato starch, magnesium stearate, talc, cornstarch, and lactose monohydrate

Warning: Plan B is not an abortifacient and should not be taken by pregnant women, as it will not be effective. Patients should be advised that Plan B provides no protection against HIV infection (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Plan B is not recommended for routine use as a contraceptive.
